4th and 5th grade SES students have 3D art at the Scottsville Library for the month of March.

Here is Ms. Lindy with 5th graders working on the art drawing trick of Foreshortening.

At BW we are creating digital and traditional images that show the drawing trick of foreshortening.  This project requires teamwork and cooperative learning.  We hope to have an art exhibit by April 28th to show all that we have accomplished.

The Fine Arts Festival 2015

Our Annual ACPS Fine Arts Festival is at Fashion Square Mall from March 1st to March 15th.  BW and SES exhibits are near Bath and Body Works.  We have 2D and 3D art on display.  SES students will also have art at Longwood College and the Scottsville Library.  Stay tuned for more information about these exhibits.  HAPPY YOUTH ART MONTH!

Yummy Food Sculpture

4th and 5th Graders explored 3D solids and the sculpture of Claes Oldenburg.  Next we designed our own Food Sculptures, something yummy and realistic enough that you might give it to a friend and see if they think it is real!  Come to our April 28th Art and Music Collaborative Presentation at BW to see more of our sculpture project and our 5th grade drawing projects.  SES will also have another exhibit of sculpture at the Scottsville Public Library this Spring.

This semester K/1 students at BW created collage portraits.  K students created self-portraits with their favorite things.  First grade students created Famous American Collage portraits.  At SES we created patterns and story pictures inspired by the art and literature of Faith Ringgold.
