Happy Spring!

All classes are contributing to water garden murals in the hallways of our school.  These paintings, paper constructions and sculpture are all inspired by the museum masterpieces of Claude Monet.  His beautiful water garden in Giverny, France is still there!  We are learning about aerial or bird's eye views, impressionism, color mixing, pond life and more!

Our Music and Art Collaboration for the 4/5 program at BW on May 1st was very impressive!

Congratulations to Ella H. at BW and Ella O. at Scottsville for having art selected by the LCVA at Longwood University.  Their art will be in a one year "Highlights" statewide, student art show at the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts.  The show will end in 2018.

Our annual ACPS Visual Arts Festival in March was fabulous!!  Here are a few pictures of our displays at the mall.

Our Annual ACPS Visual Arts Festival will be March 12th to March 26th at Fashion Square Mall. Come and see wonderful student art on exhibit representing all grade levels and all schools.  Help us celebrate student achievements and student creativity!  We also have lots of student art on display in our school hallways.

Happy 2017!  Here's what we are working on:

4th and 5th Grade Value and 3D Still Life Drawing

Our K through 4th grade art selections will be exhibited at the LCVA 2017 student art show.  This is at Longwood University in Farmville.  The show starts February 19th at 2pm and ends March 26th.  All K and 1st grade art students just completed the Polar Bear Project!
