SES and BW 1st Graders Create Collages

Student Teacher, Ms. Lindy works with 1st Graders at SES on our Collage Project.

We are happy to have her with us at BW and SES.  Here is a quote from her introductory letter:

"I am currently a student at Longwood working towards my bachelors of fine arts, in art education.  It is an honor to give back to a school system that has made such a profound impact on me. I am thrilled to have the chance, to teach alongside many of the very teachers that inspired my career path."

ART NEWS
DECEMBER 2014
DEAR PARENTS/GUARDIANS, FAMILIES, STUDENTS:
All students created a 3D artifact with real clay.  Students practice fine motor skill development and learn about the clay and or ceramic process.  We used red, terra cotta clay and/or white earthenware clay.  Our clay projects are designed for decorative and interior use.  Our clay is not safe for food.  Kindergarten art students created pinch pots.  First Graders created pattern pots.  Second graders created Pueblo style pinch pots.  Third graders created a clay nature imprint inspired by fossils.  Fourth graders created clay pockets.  Fifth graders created clay relief sculptures.  It is hard work and students did a great job!
Here is a link to one of our recent slideshow presentations.
Have a Happy Winter Break!
