Art News for Fall

ART NEWS
Welcome to Fall 2014

DEAR PARENTS/GUARDIANS, FAMILIES, STUDENTS:

The "Cornerstone Project" at Broadus Wood was a fun activity for me and for all students. Students can take their rock art home when they move on to middle school.

Second through 5th grade classes are completing family or self-portrait projects and beginning line drawing and landscape projects.  First graders are exploring symbolic and patriotic art.  Kindergarten students are focusing on color, shape and line in art.  Pre-School students at Scottsville are also exploring color and shape in art.  I am very proud of how hard students are working.  Their work is fantastic!  Coming up soon we all will be working with clay.

The art room could use donations of aprons, glue sticks, clear tape and clean yogurt or similar plastic containers with lids for paint.

Please remember that it is a good idea for students to wear old clothes on art class day.
